Is $41,700 to install a new metal roof and gutters a fair price?

I am concerned about the appearance of my new roof and gutters, which cost $37,800 for the roof and $3,900 for the gutters. The owner of the roofing company stated they would paint some areas and try to improve the mangled ends, but dismissed the issues as "minor cosmetics." I expected better quality work, especially since this roof cost about a third of what I paid for the house, and I splurged on it as an investment. I am worried about whether the current appearance is normal and if there's a risk of rain or snow damage, as I live in an area that snows. I've only paid a $2,000 deposit so far. I called the city, and an inspector did look at it but didn't get on the roof; I've left a message for the inspector. I'm reviewing the agreement, which states "all metal roofs install per manufacturer specification," to see if corners were cut. I've also scheduled two other roofing companies to provide reports and estimates. I've used this company for repairs before, and they did my friend's roof, but neither of those projects involved metal roofing. They have a 4.8-star rating on Google and were not the cheapest option.
