Is $30,000 to install an Enphase home solar system with batteries a fair price?
Project Details
I started this project 6 months ago with a local and highly rated company. Due to the tax deadline, the company has been slammed, and their customer service has been poor. I anticipate that after the city passes the inspection, the only communication I will receive will be a request for the final milestone payment. After spending $30,000 and waiting 6 months, I expected a project manager to provide a 30+ minute walkthrough of the Enphase app, discuss expected generation levels for my specific system, and offer tips. The electrician on site only speaks Russian and simply said "the app is easy." I need to know how to shut down the system in an emergency and turn it back on, how to monitor my system and what my production should look like, and what is covered under the workmanship and manufacturer warranties, as well as who to call if there's a problem. My contract includes guarantees of minimum production, and I believe the installer needs to add production generation targets. I recently bought a new electric car, and the salesperson spent over an hour setting up the app and teaching me its features, so I expected a similar level of service for my solar system.
